This and That

WARNING: VERY LONG POST!!!!

So, I realize that it has been forever since I've updated, so expect a ton of pictures. We've done a lot since the last time I posted. During the summer, we went to Lagoon for my mom and dad's stake Lagoon day. We had a lot of fun. It was the first time Samson had ever been, and he was a champ!!

One day, Samson and I went to Wheeler Farm with my mom, Arica and her girls, and my cousin. They had a lot of fun feeding the ducks and looking at the animals.

This duck was so funny! We called him the poof-head duck. There was quite a few of them like this.

Too stinkin' cute!!

Hilarious!!

We also went to a Family Reunion for my mom's mom's side of the family. They had a playground that the kids were having fun at. Sam was just chillin' in the swing, but it took him a while to find a good way to go down the slide.

We spent a few days a Bear Lake with my whole family (except Andy, Jill and Eden. We missed you guys.) Samson fell in the lake. The grown-ups did a little boating and wake boarding even though it was a rainy, cold day. It was a blast and a much needed vacation.

Samson tried to play a little ping pong. Side note: I have a picture of me when I was about 18 months old standing on a ping pong table with a paddle in my hand. We just couldn't resist getting a similar one of Sam.

We spent one morning at the park with Arica and her girls. Since the slide at the family reunion, Samson now LOVES them. He will pretty much go down any slide you put him on.

I decided to let Samson have his own little bowl of ice cream in the car one day. We were in a rush to pick Scott up from work, and I knew the ice cream would melt if I waited, so I just gave Sam the bowl and a spoon and let him go at it. You can't really tell in this picture, but he was a MESS!!! So was the car seat.

I think this was on Labor Day. We spent the day at my mom and dad's. I'm pretty sure this is home made ice cream, but I can't remember for sure! Sam had fun with it, though.

While the Utah State Fair was in town, we decided to go. We had a lot of fun, and I think Samson had a good time, too.

Jill and Eden we able to come into town for a few days, and we had lots of fun with them. The kids were all so good together, and it was very entertaining to watch them.

The other day, we took Samson to a pumpkin patch. It was so much fun. I don't ever remember going to one as a kid, so it was fun to take Sam. He loved all the space he had to run around. He loved pointing to all the pumpkins. We ended up getting a nice big one to carve, and Samson picked some small ones all by himself.

And this is Samson's latest favorite toy. Yup, the silverware drawer. He will scoot a chair over to the drawer, open it, then climb onto the chair. He the takes out the silverware and puts in on the counter. Then he will put it back in. He will keep himself entertained with this forever! He's so funny!

Called to Serve

Scott's brother, Brett received his mission call yesterday. It's crazy for me to think that he's going on a mission. When Scotty and I started dating, Brett was in elementary school!! Time goes way too fast sometimes! So, after I got off of work yesterday, we went on over to my in-laws for the big opening!! I think Brett was pretty anxious to find out what it said.

Elder Brett Huish has been called to serve in the...

Philippeans Quezon City Mission

He will be reporting to the Provo MTC on Jan. 27, 2010. We are so excited for Brett and his call. I still can't believe that he's old enough to go on a mission! Good luck, Brett!! We love you!!

Arizona trip 2009

I know these are super late, but here are the pictures from our trip to Arizona a few months ago. Be prepared for A LOT of pictures! I'll try to keep the words down to a minimum!!

This was in the hotel room we stayed at in Page on our way down. We got there at about 1:00 am. Sam was pretty good considering it was so late. He had slept for a while in the car, but wasn't happy to be woken up. It took him a while to fall back asleep, but he did ok until he got too cold. We all did... I think we forgot to turn the heat on. Oops!!

Samson slept more in the car the next morning. If you look closely, you can tell he was eating graham crackers!

At one point, I looked back to check on Sam, and this is what I saw. I thought it was so cute, I just had to take a picture! What a cute little boy!!

Samson wanted to drive for a little while... We just let him sit there for a bit!

The main reason we went to Arizona was to go to a reception for my uncle John that had gotten married a month earlier. The reception was at a really cool cowboyish restaurant. Right outside the front door, there was this bull. Kinda funny!

Us with the great view behind us.
Side note: Scott picked out my whole outfit for the reception. Dress, shirt, and shoes!! What a great husband I have!!

My mom, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Bob and Uncle John (the groom)

We went to the cemetery to visit Scott's brother's grave. When Scott went into the office to find out where we needed to go, there was this limo golf cart. We thought it was hilarious!

Samson at his Uncle Jon's grave. He was so cute while we were there!!

We went to the park one day. I think it was one of the first times that Sam had been to a park. I don't think he knew what to think. We've since taken him to other parks, and he LOVES them!!

We also went to the zoo. Scott loves the Phoenix Zoo, so we had to take Samson while we were there. I think he had a lot of fun, and we did too.

In the kangaroo pouch.

This is one of my favorite pictures!! He is such a ham!

There was a little petting zoo with goats. Sam had a good time with it.

One of my favorite things at the zoo is that they have a place that you walk through, and there are monkeys just in the open. They are just running around and playing around you. It was awesome!!

This baboon was so funny. He came right over to us and just looked at us for a while. Then he stuck his finger in his nose, pulled it out and wiped it on the glass right in front of us!! We started laughing, and then he wiped it off again, and put it in his mouth. It was hilarious!!

We saw lions...

and a tiger...
but we weren't able to see the bear... Oh, my!!

At the zoo, they have a little fountain place that the kids can play in. We thought Samson would have fun with it. He was a little hesitant at first...

Then he got curious about all the holes in the ground...

Then water started coming out of said holes, and that freaked him out!! It looks like he's enjoying himself in this picture, but he was actually screaming!!

So he wanted my to hold him again.

When I tried to put him down, he didn't want to go near the water again.

Once the water turned off, he was fine. Silly boy!
Side note: Sam's still not a big fan of cold water. When we go swimming at my mom's house in the little kiddie pool, Sam won't get in it. He loves to play in the water from outside of the pool, but he hates to be put in the pool. Again, silly boy!!

We went to visit Scott's aunt Kathleen and had dinner with her and her son, Sean. She made yummy, yummy tacos. Huish tacos are THE BEST!!!

We had so much fun on our trip. Samson did get sick for about a day and a half. We were dealing with him vomiting, and lots and lots of diareah, but he was still a happy boy.

On the drive home, we got a later start than we thought we were going to, so we ended up staying the night in Kanab. We got there about midnight, and Sam DID NOT want to go back to sleep. He was just as happy as could be, though.

We stopped in Beaver for a bathroom break. Every time my family would stop here on family trips when I was younger, we'd always take pictures on the huge rocking chair. Sam was a little grumpy, so we didn't get a lot of good ones, but we tried!!

Samson was all tuckered out from out fun-filled vacation. He slept most of the way home the last day. He was such a trooper, though.

Hmm...

So it's 1:30 in the morning and I can't sleep. I don't know why. I'm super tired, but I can't seem to fall asleep. So I decided to just dink around on the computer until I felt like I could sleep. Obviously it's not working so well. I've been sitting here for almost two hours. I think one reason why I can't sleep is because my mind won't shut up. I don't really have anything really important on my mind, I just can't turn it off... So it's hard for me to sleep. I'm also a little peeved about this because last night, I slept like crap. I think I woke up about three times just to go to the bathroom!! Now, I know that I have a super small bladder, but I can usually make it through the night! Seriously!! I also think I'm having trouble sleeping because I have a feeling that something is bothering me, but I'm not sure what it is. I know that sounds really stupid, but I just can't put my finger on it. Maybe my mind is racing to figure that out.

Anyways, as I've been sitting here trying to keep myself entertained, I've been looking at peoples pictures on Face Book. I've come to realize that I don't take very many pictures of events in our lives. (And the ones I do take, I never post anyways!!) I know that I suck at blogging, I just can't get the motivation to get the pictures on here, and then try to come up with what to say about them. Maybe some day I'll actually do a post about our Arizona trip we took 4 1/2 months ago. Why I'm not doing that now, I don't know. I've come to the conclusion that I'm a lazy blogger. I love to read other peoples blogs, but I suck at updating my own. Even though I know I should. I think I'm just lazy all around sometimes!

Well, I guess I'll finish my rant now. I'm sure I've bored you all to sleep. (At least some of you are getting it!) Sorry about the randomness and boringness. I'll try to do better next time!! :) Until then, I hope you all sleep well!

SEUSS!!

Scott and I are doing Seussical the Musical in Midvale Park. We opened last night, and had a great show! We would LOVE to have all of you come and see this awesomely fun show. Our cast is amazing, I know everyone will just love it! I am playing a Bird Girl, and Scott is a Wickersham Monkey!! We have had so much fun getting this show ready, and we are so excited to be performing it now! We have a show tonight, and every night next week through Saturday. The show starts at 7:30 pm (it only runs for 2 hours including intermission) and it's showing at the outdoor stage at the Midvale Park. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for kids (3-12 I think) with some group rates available. Let me know if you have any questions. Hope to see you all there!!

Home Sweet Home

We have made it back safely from out trip to Arizona. We got home yesterday around 1:30. We started the drive home Saturday, but weren't able to make it the whole way, so we stayed the night in Kanab. We had a wonderful vacation and enjoyed the nice 80 degree weather while it was snowing back at home!! :) I'm so glad we missed it. Samson did very well, and he had a good time. (Except for when he got sick. More to come on that.) I did take quite a few pictures, and will post them when I have a little more time. I am home on my lunch break right now. I sure enjoyed my vacation, but it's kinda nice to be back home getting back into the grind! I just wanted to let everyone know that we made it back home safe, and we had a fun trip!
